A new frontier

Today is a first; for Finn at least. My boy has been scooting and army crawling around for a couple of weeks now. Managing his way around his room from one end to the other only slowing down long enough to pull down bottles of shampoo and soaps, lift up rugs and peek underneath. Usually he starts heading to the register vent and then to the yellow braided rugs, but today he passed both of these attractions up and headed right for the doorway to the rest of the world. He has wandered past this place before only to look back at me making sure everything is okay and then making a u-turn back to his toys and books. I sat there watching him. He stopped, looked left (at Jason's guitar), right (at another register), then made a straight line for the plastic bag on the floor next to the TV. It was as if someone had taught him to watch for cars on the street. Once I managed to tear the bag away it was on to the Cd's and then the dog. Three things that he should not be playing with. Child proofing has been nagging at me for about a month now. I guess I can't put it off any longer.
